Andial built 21 of these special Twin-plugged 993 Turbos at their Santa Ana, CA facility - 20 3.8's and 1 3.6 - All featured a host of improvements to the drivetrain, brakes, cooling, ignition and suspension systems. Of the 21 cars built, 19 are listed in the Andial BT 3.8 registry dated 9/14/07. As of this writing, 17 of the original 21 cars remain. A few different ECU tunes were offered for the 3.8 after completion and power numbers can vary. The original rating was 580hp. Our car is said to be producing 600hp on pump gas and 650 in the race setting
Andial had a very close relationship with Porsche NA through their joint Motorsport activities from the 70s through the 90s. Amongst other highlights, they have 6 1st place finishes at the Daytona 24 hours from 1983-87 and 1989 to their credit. The majority of the upgraded parts used in these builds carry Porsche part numbers. They were built with factory driveability and longevity in mind.
The parts list that comprises the $70k BT 3.8 conversion is too exhaustive to list bit by bit, but the highlights of the Engine package are:
